This hasn't happened in 33 years!...
...and last time it was Phil Mickelson
GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that loves it when the unusual happens — especially when it’s tied to really good golf.
Here’s what we’ve got for you today:
Nick Dunlap gets it done.
Rory’s Dubai Dynasty
Who’s buying Sunday Red?
For the first time in 33 years
An Amateur golfer has won a PGA Tour event. Nick Dunlap had pure ice in his veins and threw darts for four days to bring home the W at The American Express.
THE FIRST AMATEUR TO WIN ON TOUR IN 33 YEARS. THE FIRST AMATEUR TO WIN ON TOUR SINCE PHIL MICKELSON.
NICK DUNLAP HAS ARRIVED. WHAT A WEEK. WHAT A TOURNAMENT. NERVES OF STEEL.

Now Nick has to decide if he’s finishing out his Sophomore year of college before going pro — or just jumping onto the tour.
You see, a win like this guarantees a tour card for two years!
We’ll see exactly what happens, but one thing we’re confident in is that it’s not going to be the last we hear about this young man’s career.
Not only did he win, but he’s the first to do it since Phil Mickelson in 1991. What’s the first thing Phil did on the podium?
Well, a very Phil-like thing:
Here’s an interesting read, from GolfWeek, the history of Amateur winners in the PGA.
Rory has done it again
Last year, at this time, Rory was number one in the world. Soon to be knocked off by Scheffler and outshined the rest of the season by the likes of Rahm, Scheffler, Koepka, and Hovland.
Also last year, at this time, Rory won The Dubai Desert Classic. And now he’s done it again — for an amazing 4th time in a row — two wins back-to-back!
Simply incredible.
Here’s a hilarious and endearing moment with his parents and the trophy:
4 fingers…Rory and his Dad 😂❤️

Ready for the Sunday Red?
We all know Tiger and Nike parted ways.
Rumors abound as to why. Was it Nike’s woke policies? Or was it Nike who pulled the plug, choosing to move out of the golf apparel space?
Well, now we have some more information. (Maybe?)
Taylormade has recently filed a Trademark for the term “Sunday Red” and the logo is a tiger. How obvious can you get!
