McIlroy back to winning! Will it stick?
GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that would NEVER share footage of your awful shanks to the entire internet.
Here’s what we’ve got for you today:
Rory wins!
…but he’s still salty about LIV
Steph Curry’s Ace!!
Even President’s shank the ball
Rory gets into winning shape ahead of the Open
Ever since not making the cut at the Masters, Rory has consistently been getting his game back up to speed. He’s been getting mostly top-10 results and an awesome second place at the US Open.
But a W had been slipping from him the whole season. Until now.
Nice to add another National Open to the CV. Incredible week in Scotland. Can’t wait to come back next year. @ScottishOpen

Rory McIlroy took home the victory at the Genesis Scottish Open with impressive back-to-back birdies on two of the toughest holes in the course to seal the deal.
And we’re not talking about easy conditions. Take a look at this shot:
“It was 201 yards. My 2-iron normally goes 260. It was a 60 yard wind.”

“It’s a great shot of confidence,” commented Rory at the press conference.
And at the perfect time, we may add.
With the Open coming up in a few days, Rory is clearly on his A-game and landing some incredible shots.
We can’t wait to see what he brings on Thursday.
Rory is ready to get over it, almost
By his own admittance, one of the players who’s been affected the most by the LIV/PGA Tour drama is Rory McIlroy.
He was reluctantly nudged into becoming the non-official spokesperson for The Tour and his game suffered for it.
Even though he’s stepped away from that role in recent months, and given the fact that the LIV/PGA Tour beef has been squashed, he’ll still get asked about it by reporters.
At the second day of the Scottish Open’s press conference when asked if he would consider being a part of a team championship format he replied: “If LIV Golf was the last place to play golf on earth, I would retire.”
A weird thing to say at this point, since it seems like a merger is inevitable between the two leagues.
Would he say yes to captain a team if it was under the PGA Tour flag, as was disclosed in the leaked PGA Tour emails?
We can only hope. It would be very cool to see Rory’s team go head to head against Tiger’s or even Mickelson’s team.
Following up on his anti-LIV statement, Rory mentioned how he’s ready to move past the drama and simply focus on becoming the best golfer he can be.
Steph Curry lands an amazing hole in one
Celebrity golf tournaments are super fun to watch because there are some superstars from other sports that absolutely love golf.
And they manage to get really good at it.
One of these superstars is NBA’s Golden State Warriors Steph Curry.
During the second round of the American Century Championship, Curry landed an awesome Ace on the 152-yard par-3 seventh hole.

It’s always awesome to see anyone land an ace, but super cool when it’s a pro player from another sport who loves golf so much that still manages to dedicate the time to get better at golf.
It was also cool watching Curry’s celebration.
I mean, just look at him go, that’s impressive in of itself. Watching everyone else celebrating with him and trying to catch up with him and then realizing they couldn’t keep up with the 6’2” pro basketball player was slightly comical.
But then again, there aren’t a whole lot of humans that can keep up with Curry.
Steph Curry managed to keep the momentum going and took home the W.
The shank heard round the world?
Donald Trump is famous for a number of things. Reality shows, being the president of the United States of America, and for his love of golf.
It’s this last part we’re interested in.
He’s had a lifelong appreciation for the game and even owns a few golf courses.
And at the age of 77, still manages to get some good shots. But every now and then, he’ll also get a not-so-good one that, unfortunately for him, goes viral.
Here’s a video of him hitting a shank, the thing that plagues most golf aficionados' nightmares.
Apparently this wasn't a cold shank by Donald Trump...self confessed greatest golfer in the history of political office.
He was laying up to that spot to give himself a better angle to the pin.
