Post Malone is kicking off the 2024 WM Phoenix Open

The Waste Management Phoenix Open is one of the most anticipated events of the year.

It’s got great players, great crowds, and something unexpected always happens.

The Phoenix Open just has a way of being extra fun.

And everything indicates that next year will definitely be a good one since it will be kicked off by none other than Post Malone

For those living under a rock, like myself, Post Malone is one of the biggest artists of the last decade. He routinely sells out stadiums and his unique mix of hip hop and pop has been streamed billions of times.

This only means that the biggest party in golf will be even bigger next year.

Seems like the PGA Tour didn’t want to feel outdone by LIV’s Adelaide event.

We’re expecting the WM Phoenix Open to be 🔥.

Rory and Patrick are probably not on the best terms

Remember back during the Ryder Cup when Rory got into it with Patrick Cantlay’s caddy, Joe LaCava?

By getting into it, we mean yelling and waving his finger at him.

The good news is that according to a recent statement, Rory McIlroy stated that the beef with LaCava is water under the bridge.

McIlroy said he talked it over with Joe and they’re all good, but he still doesn’t particularly like Patrick Cantlay.

He went on record to call Cantlay a d*ck.

Why is this still relevant?

Two reasons.

  1. Patrick Cantlay is part of the TGL, which is Rory and Tiger’s new league.

  2. Joe LaCava was Tiger’s caddy, and close friend, for over a decade.

Does this mean that the TGL parties might get a little awkward between the two top golfers?

Probably. Does it mean they’re trying to drum up controversy like a WWE event?

Definitely.

Max Homa gets his first international win

Even though Team USA didn’t do great at this year’s Ryder Cup, Max Homa had a standout performance.

He got some impressive wins during the Ryder Cup and it seems like that momentum kept him going to get his first win at an international event this weekend.

Homa, currently 8th in the world rankings, dominated throughout the entire Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa.

He finished four shots ahead of runner-up Nicolai Hojgaard and managed to get a 6-under 66 at the Gary Player Country Club.

Impressive

And in case you were wondering, the field was packed with top-level players. He beat out Justin Thomas and, the defending champion, Tommy Fleetwood to take home the win.

The 2023 season has been great for Homa, a marked improvement over 2022.

Can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for Max.

That’s it for today. We’ll go back to listening to Post Malone.
