Golf’s going global, what does that mean?
Uh oh, head of LIV (allegedly) did some bad things.
Langer’s last Masters inbound.
McIlroy and Scott: Voices for Golf's Global Future
At the recent Dubai Desert Classic, Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott sparked a conversation beyond the usual tournament chatter, offering insights into golf's evolving global landscape.
Key point: Golf’s going global. It honestly has been for more than a decade. But here’s Rory’s take in a nutshell —
Post-PGA Tour Policy Board, he stressed the need for a global perspective in golf, recognizing the influence of international players.
McIlroy noted low ratings at major PGA events like Kapalua, advocating a need for greater global recognition and expansion.
Both Rory and Scott emphasized the importance of embracing golf's international potential, not just its relatively recent American roots.
Here’s a sub 2-min video of Rory speaking to the global hopes:

Rory also suggested India as a golf destination for the tour! That would be incredible, in our opinion.
We asked an AI Image creator what that would look like. Here’s our favorite result:
Like it or not, the sport's future is intertwined with its global embrace. Unfortunately, that global embrace is bumpy since…
There’s Legal Turbulence at LIV: Al-Rumayyan's Alleged Behavior
Golf hasn’t been tranquil for a few years. But the hope is that golf will come together.
That said, the potential of peace is disrupted. Yasir Al-Rumayyan, head of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, and ipso facto LIV Golf, faces significant legal allegations:
The Allegation: Dr. Saad Aljabri, ex-Saudi intelligence officer, accuses Al-Rumayyan of executing harmful orders from the Saudi Crown Prince.
Serious Charges: Al-Rumayyan is implicated in kidnapping and wrongful detention, property misappropriation, and diverting millions into the Public Investment Fund.
Impact on Golf: His legal woes could affect his role in Golf Saudi, LIV Golf, and the in-progress potential deal with the PGA Tour.
These include taking steps to orchestrate alleged campaign which included “wrongful kidnapping & detention” of Aljabri’s children, “misappropriation of property” & “expropriation” of companies worth hundreds of millions of dollars into PIF

So far, a Canadian federal judge has denied Al-Rumayyan's claim of sovereign immunity. As we say often here at EasyPars — We’ll see what happens.

Langer's career is nothing short of wild:
Two Masters victories in 1985 and 1993.
Record 40 Masters appearances (Tying with Larry Mize in this elite category).
Consistent excellent showings (notably a top 10 finish at Augusta in 2014).
Defying his age by outperformed Bryson DeChambeau in 2020 👀.
A Global force outside of Augusta with over 120 worldwide victories and 10 Ryder Cup participations.
As the 2024 Masters kicks off on April 11, Jon Rahm may be the defending champion, but the golf world will at least turn an eye to Langer's final act.
Bring your tissues.
