PGA perks got better. Is it enough to keep Rahm?
+ Who deserves player of the year?
GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that loves a good cold plunge and a nice, clean port-a-potty.
Here’s what we’ve got for you today:
Cold plunges and other PGA perks
Is Rahm going to LIV?
Who deserves 2023 POTY?
PGA Sweetens the “Pot”
Remember a few months ago, when Jon Rahm said there should be a bathroom on every hole of tournament courses?
Well, the PGA just pulled a, “you spoke, and we listened.”
The organization released a huge list of perks tournaments must provide its players. What other lavish items made the cut?
Complimentary cars
Minimum 4 restrooms for each 9 holes (listening, Rahm?)
Cold plunges, since they’ve become all the rage for Tour Pros
The PGA also encouraged all tournament venues to step up their nutrition game, asking them to “re-evaluate” their menus.
If you ask us, this is a “pass the buck” situation. The PGA gets to say, “look at what we’re doing for you” while actually passing costs to the courses that host tournaments.
In an effort to keep Jon Rahm from joining LIV, Jay Monahan said he’d be willing to offer Rahm a $50 Starbucks gift card for every cut he makes in a PGA event.

Is Rahm Gone?
Ok, imagine you’re Rahm. You open up your favorite golf news site (hopefully, it’s easypars.com). You see a story about PGA perks and get excited.
Could your voice have made a difference for small-bladdered pros?
You scroll past the intro to see that it’s a pot on every other hole. What do you do? Call LIV. Now, imagine they offer you nearly $600 million to play less golf, and get better tourney perks.
Ok, this likely isn’t what happened, but it is rumored that Rahm has been offered that much money to make the switch to LIV.
Something tells us, there’s more riding on the Player of the Year (POTY) choice than pride.
The two at the top of the list? Scheffler and Rahm.
Here’s the full POTY story on EasyPars:
Remember. Jon did pull out of the TGL, right before the roof caved in, keeping us from seeing it until 2025 😒.
What do you think?
Who deserves Player of the Year (POTY)?
Is POTY and more potty enough to keep Rahm from defecting?
Are the perks good enough, or should the PGA do more?
We can’t literally get your answers for all of these, but here’s a poll to give us your feedback!
