🚨 Pros are taking the Masters VERY seriously 👀

+Rory calls out ratings (rightfully so, in our opinion)

GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that satisfies like a great shot on the #1 tee.

Here’s what we’ve got for you today:

  • The Masters is exactly one week away, and the biggest names are changing things up.

  • Pros are beginning to grow concerned about interest in golf.

  • Amazing content for you to check out!

The Masters this year could be phenomenal

Last year, we had a great Masters tournament.

The LIV/PGA tension was thick, but not old news (like it is now). People were wondering how the two leagues would interact, and of course, who would win.

Definitely one of the best we’ve had since Tiger’s iconic win in 2019.

This year’s — the one that starts next Thursday — could be better, yeah we said it.

First, Rory is eyeing a win really hard. The Masters is the only major he’s not won. Getting it would give him a coveted Grand Slam (winning all 4 majors).

To prep he’s:

  • Skipping the par 3 tournament. You know, the traditional tourney where wives caddy for their husbands. It’s great for the crowds, but Rory’s putting out that Rocky 3 Clubber Lang energy — all business.

  • He’s working with famed Tiger Woods swing coach, Butch Harman. Getting that swing right.

Rory (probably):

McIlroy’s not the only one with the eye of the…., well, the other person taking the Masters seriously is Tiger.

So seriously, he, umm, is forgoing certain recreational activities. The goal?

Full focus.

Here’s a tweet/x post explaining what we mean:

To be honest, golf needs it. We still get excited the week before the Masters (hopefully you do, too). But if some things don’t change, the sport of Pro Golf is in for hard times.

Speaking of:

Rory calls out the obvious (ratings are down)

Big TV and Big Golf have various reasons excuses for viewership being down. Other sports are gaining popularity. People are cutting cords. Yada yada.

You know what’s easier to say? Numbers are numbers and facts are facts.

And gotta hand it to Rory, he didn’t shy away from it.

Prize purses up, viewership down, sponsors leaving, fans sick of drama.

Not good.

We are genuinely and truly hoping for a dynamite Masters. Like, 4 dudes in a mulit-hole playoff into the sunset.

If Rory and/or Tiger do well, that will also be good for the game. After all, Rory stands to get a Grand Slam and Tiger was out after last year’s Masters for the rest of the season.

But as we often say — we’ll see.

Meme of the Day

😂😂

Rory piling on the PGA’s ratings:

That’s it for today. Remember, we’ll be live x-ing? Tweeting the Masters. It would mean the world to us if you helped us by following, liking, and even sharing our posts. (Here’s the link.)

See you there!
