+ Happy Gilmore 2!!!

GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that satisfies your pro golf itch like a green-in-regulation.

Hereā€™s what weā€™ve got for you today:

  • Happy Gilmore 2!

  • Scottieā€™s coach is in a pickle

  • Best golf content from the internet

Multiple reports say itā€™s happening

A huge inspiration for this entire newsletter ā€” Happy Gilmore.

A movie that is the source code for making fun of the uptight nature of professional golf.

Now, we have word (from Shooter McGavin himself) that the project is moving forward. It even has a proposed release of summer 2026.

The internet is already having a great time. Our favorite is the dream cast list of characters:

Note: The pick for Chubbā€™s son is our favorite, but this cast list is not (so far as we can tell) finalized and possibly not real.

Scottieā€™s coach says thereā€™s nothing left

You know when youā€™ve got a good coach? When he admits he canā€™t teach you any better in a certain area.

Butā€¦What happens when thereā€™s nothing left?

Randy Smith has taught Scottie Scheffler to golf since he was 8 years old. His advice to him before this weekā€™s Texas Childrenā€™s Houston Open?

ā€œJust go play golf.ā€

Wow. It seems like after he fixed the putter, even Scottieā€™s coach doesnā€™t know what he can work on?

Smith even said heā€™s only ever seen one other golfer as dialed as Scheffler (wonder who that could be šŸ…).

Obviously, the golf swing is a fluid skill. One day, Scottie could try something new and throw off the entire balance of his game. Unlikely, but coaching is always something that comes back around.

Randy Smith looking at his notes for Scottieā€™s next training session:

Thatā€™s it for today, golfer.

Two more weeks until the Masters! Weā€™re excited, and hope you are, too! Get ready for us to live tweet it (can follow us right here).

Later gator,
