Our year in review is out!
2023 was wild and the future is bright
GM. This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that’s looking forward to 2024, all the way to into the 2030’s!
Here’s what we’ve got for you today:
EasyPars 2023 Year in Review!
The next generation is already heating up!
Monahan got a raise last year. Is it news?
Our Official Year in Review is live!!
We narrowed 2023 into the 10 biggest stories, at least in our opinion.
Don’t worry, it’s not a full-length book. In fact, it’s only a bit longer than an average email!
The list is meant for you to remember, reflect, and hope for the future of golf.
Like it? PLEASE share the article, and if you’d be so kind, share our newsletter. It would mean the world to us, and something we don’t often request.

The young players are so good
Annika Sorenstam, John Daly, Tiger Woods.
Hard to imagine any players who influenced the game in the 90s more than these three. The best players in history, for men and women, playing at the same time (Annika and Tiger).
Plus, the most…vibrant player in the history of the game - John Daly.
Obviously, their individual games are shifting from the prime time. However, each of these powerhouses has given their mantle to their sons.
If you haven’t already, remember these names:
Will McGee (Annika’s son)
Jon Daly II
Charlie Woods
Qass Singh (Vijay’s son)
Charlie has the swagger of his dad. Daly II, learning from his dad, is not afraid to be himself.
Now, Annika’s son just scored an ace.
Annika Sorenstam’s 12-year-old son Will made an ACE in a practice round ahead of the @PNCchampionship 🙌

He’s 12! Charlie is 14.
Key point? We’re in for some amazing golf toward the end of the decade.
Monahan’s $5 million raise
Ok, so it was $4.7 million, from $13.9 in 2021 to $18.6 in 2022. That’s not counting the $9.2 million in bonuses 👀
We’re capitalists here at EasyPars, so good on him for getting paid. But it’s obviously not without controversy. Pros and golf fans alike take major issues with Monahan’s performance.
Plus, this is before the PGA/PIF deal was announced, but maybe not before talks began?
Did that influence things? Don’t know.
Here is a hilarious and fantastic (if long) post on the topic:
This is going to surprise a lot of people.
I firmly believe Jay Monahan deserved every penny of his $18.6 million dollar pay package in 2022. Objectively, he’s shown undeniable business prowess running the PGA Tour and confronting the challenges of the LIV League. Here’s… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…— Bob “Golf” Ball (@BobBallPdx)
