šŸ‘€Weird week for world #1s (including an 80 on the card)šŸ‘€

Good Afternoon (GA). This is Easy Pars. The golf newsletter that would never ask you leading questions right before your tee time.

Hereā€™s what weā€™ve got for you today:

  • Grayson Murray

  • A weird week for world #1s

  • The best golf content around the internet

A respectful word on tragedy

Again, weā€™re a lighthearted newsletter, but tragedy has struck the game we love, again.

Our prayers are with the family of Grayson Murray.

If you struggle with mental health issues, please reach out to someone. Here at Easy Pars we believe every single person is valuable and made in the image of our Creator. Including you.

One shoots an 80, and the other gets their felony charges dropped

Wow.

Yesterday, the likely last turn of Scottieā€™s arrest happened when Kentucky prosecutors dropped all charges against Scheffler.

Arresting officer, Bryan Gillis, even released a statement.

TBH, it was a great play for him. He has to know a lot of people are itching against police. Then, he had to go and offend a whole lot of people who back the blue by arresting the #1 golfer a few hours before his tee time šŸ˜‚.

Hereā€™s the statement, itā€™s worth the read:

Our favorite highlights:

  • Mention of $80 ā€œfreakingā€ pants

  • Telling Scottie in an official PR that ā€œitā€™s all goodā€ lol

  • Alludes to it being a legit arrest and maintaining that he was drug to the ground by the vehicle šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Wild, but weā€™re glad itā€™s over. Remember Schefflerā€™s attorney, Steve Romines (and those mutton chops)? He may not be so excited. His response was live and in-person, not in a written statement.

ā€œThatā€™s why you donā€™t talk to the police.ā€

To be fair, it was a response to a question about the latest released video, where Scottie was, according to Romines, ā€œinterrogatedā€ with ā€œleading questionsā€.

Hereā€™s that video, in the form of a X post.

Have we mentioned weā€™re glad itā€™s over?

So, how about our other world #1?

Even though one is scot-free (see what we did there), Nelly Korda is still under the proverbial gun.

Could she, like Scheff, be having a bit of a fall under the weight of the pressure (sans the mug shot)?

Well, she shot 80 in her first round of the U.S. Open.

According to her, ā€œMaking a 10 on a par 3 will definitely not do you any good at a U.S. Open.ā€

Hereā€™s the video of her landing in the water 3X on said par 3. Itā€™s as rough to watch as a 6-putt.

Hereā€™s the clip of her addressing the round in a presser:

Honestly, she may come back for a phenomenal finish though. Why do we think so?

She went to practice immediately after the round.

Thatā€™s champion behavior. Sheā€™s only competing against herself.

Meme of the Day

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

NOTE: For those who may think this is real, it is an edited image. Her water bottle did look similar though.

As always, we hope to provide you with the best highlights with the best takes in golf. And weā€™ll be back at it ā€” Monday.

Later gator,

E.
